The History of the Chaplet of Saint Michael the Archangel. Where did this St. Michael Chaplet, Approved by the Church, Come From?

The promise of St. Michael is that: "Whoever would practice this devotion in his honor would have, when approaching the Holy Table, an escort of nine angels chosen from each of the nine Choirs. In addition, for the daily recital of these nine salutations, he promised his continual assistance and that of all the holy angels during life, and after death, deliverance from Purgatory for themselves and all their relations." In 1851, Pope Pius IX approved this chaplet for devotion by the Roman Catholic faithful and attached an indulgence.
